Stephen M. Sims, M.D.

Stephen M. Sims, MD, is double board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in pain management and anesthesiology. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He then completed residency training in anesthesiology and a fellowship in pain management also at UTMB. He served one year on faculty at UTMB as an assistant professor. He continues to teach and is a clinical teaching professor affiliated with M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Sims is currently in private practice treating chronic pain. He performs the latest medical interventions to treat all types of pain ranging from spinal pain to cancer pain as well as complicated pain states. His main focus is on new interventions or procedures to minimize or possibly cure chronic pain. He also does medical management for pain as well as referring to and working with spinal surgeons, physical therapists, chiropractors, and psychologists.
Dr. Sims prides himself in his integrity and honesty and works diligently to find the most appropriate method to control his patient's pain.

Anisa F. Gopalani, M.D.

Anisa Gopalani, MD is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and fellowship trained in Pain Management. She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and grew up near Houston, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with high honors and then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Gopalani then completed a fellowship in Pain Management with the Department of Anesthesiology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Gopalani is specifically trained in interventional pain management which includes epidural injections, nerve blocks, implanted therapies as well as many other specific procedures to help minimize pain. She also practices medical management and oversees therapy. As a physiatrist, she is interested in restoring function and quality of life.
